2.1.3 Immunisation & Health Check Requirements

Summary

In addition to meeting the eligibility provisions for FTB (2.2) and CCB (2.6), individuals with an FTB child must meet additional requirements as described below.

From 1 January 2016, immunisation requirements must be met for FTB children who turned 1 in the relevant income year, and in each income year after that until the age of 19 years (up to the end of the calendar year in which the child turns 19) for an individual to be eligible for the FTB Part A supplement for that child in that year.

Immunisation requirements must be met for children aged under 20 years for an individual to be eligible to receive CCB for the child.

An individual who receives both FTB Part A and an income support payment, and has a child turning 4 years old during the income year, must meet Healthy Start for School requirements to be eligible for the FTB Part A supplement for that child for that income year.

Note: From 1 July 2016, the FTB Part A supplement is subject to an income test. If an individual's ATI (which includes the ATI of their partner if any) is more than $80,000 for the relevant income year, then the individual's FTB Part A supplement in relation to that year will be nil.

Act reference: FAAct section 3(1)-'recognised immunisation provider', section 6 Immunisation requirements, section 61A FTB Part A supplement to be disregarded unless health check requirement satisfied, section 61B FTB Part A supplement to be disregarded unless immunisation requirements satisfied, section 42 When an individual is conditionally eligible for CCB by fee reduction for care provided by an approved child care service, section 44 When an individual is eligible for CCB for a past period for care provided by an approved child care service, section 45 When an individual is eligible for CCB for a past period for care provided by a registered carer
