Usage

This definition applies to all payments.

Definition

An extra care service is an aged care place that offers a higher standard of accommodation, food and services at a higher charge than other high level aged care facilities (nursing homes) (1.1.N.140), depending on the level of service provided.

Accommodation charges (1.1.A.18) do not apply to extra care services, however an accommodation bond (1.1.A.15) may be payable.
