1.1.P.05 Palliative care (CA, CP)

Definition

Palliative care aims to enhance a person's quality of life where death is not necessarily imminent.

Palliative care is referenced in pre 1 July 2009 CP legislation, in the Child Disability Assessment Determination 2001. After 1 July 2009, palliative care is referenced in the Disability Care Load Assessment (Child) Determination 2010 and the Disability Care Load Assessment (Child) Determination 2020 (Schedule 3 Part 2 Medical conditions).
