1.1.S.435 Supported residential services

These definitions apply to all payments subject to assets testing provisions.

Definition

Supported residential services (SRS), or supported residential facilities, operate in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. They offer supported accommodation to older people and people with a disability, and operate usually as private businesses.

SRS must be approved and registered with either their state or local governments and operate according to state or local government legislative requirements. SRS are not funded under the Aged Care Act 1997, nor are they required to meet aged care provider accreditation requirements.
