10.1.9.20 Outside Australia Rate for Agreement Payments

Outside Australia rate

The rate of pensions payable to people being paid under an agreement who live outside Australia is calculated using the overall calculation process in SS(IntAgree)Act section 13. Each agreement should be checked to make sure the rate calculation process has not been modified in any way.

From 1 August 2000, a ceiling was placed on the rate of pension payable to people living outside Australia, including people paid under agreements. The rate of an Australian pension paid to a person outside Australia is not to exceed the rate that would be payable to that person if they were living inside Australia.
