10.19.7.10 Arrears of Belgian Pensions

Arrears

When the grant of a Belgian pension includes an amount of arrears for a past period, any Australian income tested pension received during the period the arrears covers will need to be reassessed. The Australian pension is reassessed as if the arrears had been paid and received from the date of grant of the Belgian pension, or the date of grant of the Australian pension, whichever is the later. This is done to determine whether the person has received a higher rate of Australian pension than they were entitled to. See 10.1.8.10.
