10.21.7.10 Embargoes on Arrears of Swiss Benefits

Embargoes

Article 29 of the Agreement contains bilateral embargo provisions. This means that any overpayment of Australian benefit following the grant of Swiss benefit can, subject to Swiss legislation, be withheld from any arrears of Swiss benefit before it is paid to the recipient, and vice versa. Centrelink International Services is responsible for liaising with Switzerland and making the necessary arrangement.
