10.28.6 Requirement to Claim a Pension from the Czech Republic

Requirement to claim a pension from the Czech Republic

The Agreement with the Czech Republic does not contain special provisions to make it compulsory for people claiming Australian pensions under the Agreement to also claim a Czech pension. However, the SS(Admin)Act requires that all Australian pensioners take reasonable action to claim a comparable foreign entitlement from overseas, including the Czech Republic, in the same way as autonomous pensioners. This requirement is covered by CFP legislation explained in 7.3.1.
