10.29.11 Appeals - Agreement with the Slovak Republic

Appeals

Article 16 of the Agreement provides that appeals documents, governed by each side's social security laws, may be lodged in either country.

Appeals, whether in relation to Australian or Slovak benefits may be lodged:

in Australia, at any DHS (Centrelink) office, or
in the Slovak Republic, at the Slovak Social Insurance Agency.

Article 16, paragraph 2 provides that the date on which an appeal is lodged in one country is taken to be the date on which that appeal is lodged with the competent institution of the other party.
