Moving between Australia & Malta

Generally, benefits paid under the Agreement with Malta are portable indefinitely when the person travels between Australia and Malta. This means people being paid benefits under the Agreement can travel between Australia and Malta without the time restrictions that may apply to autonomous pensioners.

Australia to Malta

The agreement contains provisions that maintain the rate of Australian pension paid to people when they depart Australia temporarily for up to 26 weeks.

Malta to Australia

The agreement contains provisions that maintain the rate of Australian pension paid to people when they visit Australia temporarily for up to 26 weeks.
