11.1.3.110 Privacy considerations under income management

Privacy considerations

Privacy issues may arise when partners and/or other family members live in the same household. In principle, a person - including a nominee - has no right to information from Centrelink about the payment types or amounts that another household member is receiving, or how income managed funds are allocated or spent.

For practical reasons of allocating household expenses, families or households may choose to meet with Centrelink to discuss income management allocations, and this is acceptable, with the consent of all participants.
