11.1.9.10 Third party contracts under income management

Third party contracts

The Commonwealth may enter into contracts with third parties who are involved with income management, including community stores. Through these contracts, the Commonwealth will endeavour to ensure that separate accounts are maintained for each person and that the person and their nominated representatives are able to access funds to meet priority needs.

Whether or not the Commonwealth enters into contractual arrangements with third party organisations (TPOs) will depend on the frequency of personal transactions with the organisation, and whether the Commonwealth is satisfied that the organisation is providing goods and services that meet priority needs.

The Commonwealth will not enter into contractual arrangements with TPOs if they sell goods or services door-to-door.
