Current declared recognised state or territory authorities

Banned Drinker Register

The Social Security (Administration) (Recognised State/Territory Authority - Northern Territory Department of Health) Determination 2017 specifies that the Northern Territory (NT) Department of Health is a recognised state or territory authority for the purposes of Income Management. The Banned Drinker Register started operating on 1 September 2017.

The Social Security (Administration) (Recognised State or Territory - Northern Territory) Determination 2012 specifies that the NT is a recognised state or territory for the purposes of income management. The sunset date for this instrument has been deferred by the Deferral of Sunsetting – Social Security (Administration) Instruments Certificate 2022 to 1 October 2023.

Previously recognised state or territory authorities

NT Alcohol Mandatory Treatment Tribunal

The Social Security (Administration) (Recognised State/Territory Authority - NT Alcohol Mandatory Treatment Tribunal) Determination 2013 specified that the NT Alcohol Mandatory Treatment Tribunal was a recognised state or territory authority for the purposes of income management. The Tribunal operated from 1 July 2013 to 31 August 2017.

NT Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal

The Social Security (Administration) (Recognised State/Territory Authority - NT Alcohol and Drugs Tribunal) Determination 2012 specified that the NT Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal was a recognised state or territory authority for the purposes of income management. The NT Alcohol and Other Drugs Tribunal ceased operating on 1 July 2013.
