3.10.2.80 Recipient loses entitlement

Summary

Where a recipient loses entitlement to all social security payments, they may have a short last entitlement period (1.1.E.125). The entitlement period will consist of the days since the end of the previous entitlement period for which the recipient was qualified (1.1.Q.10) and payment was payable.

Transfers between payments

Where a recipient transfers between payments, they will retain their existing entitlement period. The intention is to make transfers between payment types as seamless as possible.

Example: A DSP recipient who becomes qualified for Age (1.1.P.129) on day 9 of their entitlement period will receive 8 days of DSP and 6 days of Age in their next payment. The recipient's entitlement period will remain the same.
