3.6.7.150 Start day for CA

Provisional start day (1.1.P.460)

Rules for start days for all payments are set out in 8.3.

Interaction between qualification and start day provisions for CA are set out below.

CA (child) recipient qualifying with combined scores of 2 children (1.1.C.200)

A person who qualifies for CA (child) with the combined scores of 2 children may lodge claims for the 2 children separately and on different dates. In these cases, the date on which the second claim was lodged is considered to be the date of lodgement for joint assessment.

HCC only CA (child) (1.1.H.30) recipient applying for CA (child)

If the person applies for CA (child) within 13 weeks of the advice that HCC/CA (child) has been granted, the claim is treated as a review of the original decision. In this case the date of lodgement of the claim for CA (child) is the date of lodgement of the original claim, granted as HCC/CA (child).
