1.1.K.10 Key institution

Definition

For the purposes of the National Redress Scheme, key institution is a term used when working out an institution's share of a redress payment, and only applies when there are 2 or more sets of abuse. It is used instead of other terms such as 'responsible institution' as it directs the reader to refer to the particular institution (the 'key institution') that is being focused on at each point of the methodology. The term has no application outside of this methodology.
