1.1.O.20 Official

Definition

For the purposes of the National Redress Scheme, an 'official' is a person who was or has a position or serves in a role within the institution, such as:

  • officer (with a position of power, might be paid or unpaid)
  • employee (with a contract and a salary)
  • volunteer (unpaid)
  • agent (someone otherwise linked to the institution (1.1.I.20), such as a contractor).
