6 Use & disclosure of Scheme information

Introduction

Information collected for the purposes of the National Redress Scheme may be protected information. The Scheme is bound by strict protected information laws around the collection, recording, use and disclosure of information about a person or institution, and the circumstances in which this may occur. Penalties apply if any person or institution gains access to, uses or shares protected information without authorisation.
