1.1.D.10 Daily national minimum wage amount

Definition

The daily NMW amount for a day is defined as 7.6 times the amount of the NMW (when expressed as a monetary amount per hour) set by a NMW order that is in operation on that day, irrespective of whether or not the order is also in effect on that day.

The daily NMW amount for a flexible PPL day applies from the day the determination is made and not the day the order takes effect (if it is an earlier day). The application date of 1 July is consistent with most of the indexation provisions present in family assistance law and the PPL income limit.

The amount of an instalment of PLP is the total of the daily NMW amounts for each day in the relevant instalment period that is payable to the person.
