1.1.M.10 Member of a couple

Definition

A member of a couple for child support (1.1.C.60) purposes means:

  • a person who is legally married and living with this person on a permanent basis
  • a person who is not legally married but is living on a permanent basis with another person in a genuine domestic relationship, or
  • a person whose relationship with another person (whether of the same sex or a different sex) is registered under a law of a state or territory as a kind of relationship prescribed for the purposes of that section and is not living separately and apart from the other person on a permanent or indefinite basis.
