Context
This topic explains the role of the Child Support Registrar and the purpose of the Child Support Register.
Child Support Registrar
The CSRC Act establishes the position of the Child Support Registrar.
The Child Support Registrar is the Chief Executive Officer of Services Australia. If that position ceases to exist, the Child Support Registrar is to be a person appointed by the Governor-General by written instrument.
The CSRC Act also makes arrangements for a person to act as the Child Support Registrar (if there is an acting Chief Executive Officer of Services Australia).
The acting Chief Executive Officer of Services Australia is to act as the Child Support Registrar during a vacancy in the position, or during any period that the Child Support Registrar is absent from duty from Australia or is unable to perform their duties.
If the position of Chief Executive Officer of Services Australia ceases to exist, the Secretary may, in writing, appoint a person to act as the Child Support Registrar.
