1.1.E.50 Eligibility period (SFSS)

Note: New student financial supplement scheme loans have not been available since 1 January 2004.

Remaining student financial supplement scheme loans are repaid through the Australia Taxation Office.

The following SFSS guideline references remain for historical purposes.

Definition

For the purposes of SFSS, the maximum eligibility period is defined in the following table.

Category Maximum eligibility period
Category 1 student (1.1.C.70) The period during which the student would be eligible to receive YA, Austudy or PES in a calendar year.
Category 2 student (1.1.C.80) The period during which the student would be eligible to receive YA if not ineligible under the parental income test (1.1.P.40).
