1.1.G.67 Green Army Programme

The Green Army Programme is a voluntary environmental action programme for eligible young people aged between 17-24 years old to support local environmental and heritage conservation projects across Australia.

The Green Army Programme is delivered by Green Army service providers contracted by the Department of the Environment and Energy.

A Green Army project involves environmental and or heritage activities undertaken by a Green Army team for between 20 and 26 weeks. Up to 9 eligible participants and at least one team supervisor constitute a Green Army team.

Participants are eligible to receive the green army allowance and have access to opportunities to undertake training. Green Army team supervisors will not receive the green army allowance but will be employed by the Green Army service provider and paid a wage under the applicable award.
