10.11.6 Requirement to Claim a Foreign Benefit - Agreement with Austria

Introduction

This section deals with the requirement for people claiming an Australian benefit under the Agreement with Austria to also claim a benefit from Austria.

Claiming an Austrian benefit

The Agreement with Austria does not contain provisions requiring people claiming Australian benefits under the Agreement to also claim outstanding Austrian entitlements. However, all claimants for Australian benefits are required to take reasonable action to claim any entitlement from overseas, including Austria. See CFP legislation in 7.3.1.
