10.14.1.10 History of the Agreement with Germany

History

The Agreement between Australia and Germany was signed on 13 December 2000 and commenced on 1 January 2003.

The Agreement with Germany is a formal treaty under international law and is included in the SS(IntAgree)Act as Schedule 14.

The Supplementary Agreement on Social Security between Australia and Germany was signed on 9 February 2007 and commenced on 1 October 2008. The Supplementary Agreement avoids 'double coverage'. The Social Security Agreement signed by the Governments of Australia and Germany in 2000 remains unchanged.
