10.29.6 Requirement to Claim a Pension from the Slovak Republic

Requirement to claim a pension from the Slovak Republic

The Agreement with the Slovak Republic does not contain special provisions to make it compulsory for people claiming Australian pensions under the Agreement to also claim a Slovak pension. However, the SS(IntAgree)Act requires that all Australian pensioners take reasonable action to claim a comparable foreign entitlement from overseas. This requirement is covered by CFP legislation explained in 7.3.1.
