10.7.11.20 Lodgement of Appeals - Agreement with Malta

Lodgement of appeals

Article 11 of the Agreement provides that all appeal documents, whether for an Australian or Maltese payment, may be lodged in Australia or Malta.

The date of lodgement of an appeal in Malta is deemed to be the date of lodgement in Australia.

Appeals by people paid under the Agreement can be lodged with Centrelink in Australia or with the Competent Institution in Malta.

When an appeal has to be lodged within a specified period of time, provided it is lodged in either Malta or Australia within that time, it is considered to be lodged on time.
