10.7.9.10 Portability & the Agreement with Malta

Portability - background

Portability of autonomous payments is covered by domestic legislation.

Article 13 of the Agreement with Malta covers the portability of payments made under the Agreement.

Age pension payable by virtue of the Agreement is payable outside the territory of both Australia and Malta without restriction.

All other benefits are payable in third countries for the same period as domestic legislation.
