3.1.9.30 Power to obtain information

Summary

This topic provides information on Centrelink's power to obtain information on compensation related matters.

Centrelink has the authority to make relevant enquiries with compensation recipients, compensation payers, insurers, employers and compensation recipients' solicitors about compensation related matters.

If a compensation recipient fails to respond to requests for information about the payment of compensation, payment of the CAP should be stopped immediately. Payment must not be restored until the delegate is satisfied that the compensation recipient's correct circumstances are being taken into account.
