3.10.5.30 New grants - date of effect

Entitlement period set at claim

A person's first payment delivery day (1.1.D.55) will be automatically set for 14 days after their date of claim. Most persons will therefore have a short first entitlement period, in order to set up their regular 14-day entitlement period. The first entitlement period can also be shorter where:

the person requests a different payment delivery day
the person has a partner (1.1.P.85)
the person is being paid through group payment arrangements (1.1.G.68).
- Example: The person is a permanent resident of a nursing home (1.1.N.140).
