8.3.3.100 Backdated start days - DOP

General rule

The DOP start day may be backdated to the day of qualification if the claim is lodged within 13 weeks of the birth of the child being cared for.

In addition, the start day may be backdated to the day of qualification for a person claiming DOP after another person receiving it has died, if the claim is lodged within 13 weeks of the first person's death.
