Backdated start days - SA

Incapacitated recipient

The start day for SA may be backdated to the first day on which the recipient is qualified for SA within the 4 weeks before the day the claim is made if:

  • a person claims SA after ceasing to receive it because they have failed to provide a medical certificate to extend their MAP), and
  • the reason for the failure is either their medical condition or an error by Centrelink.
