1.1.N.40 Non-sexual abuse

Definition

For the purposes of the National Redress Scheme, non-sexual abuse includes:

  • physical abuse
  • psychological abuse
  • neglect.

Under the Scheme, related non-sexual abuse refers to sexual abuse of a person if a participating institution is responsible for both the sexual abuse and non-sexual abuse of that person.
