1.1.W.10 Within scope

Definition

For the purposes of the National Redress Scheme, for abuse to be considered within the scope of the Scheme:

  • it must have occurred when the person was a child
  • it must have occurred either
    • inside a participating State
    • inside a Territory
    • outside of Australia
  • it must have occurred before the Scheme start day (1 July 2018).

The NRS Rules may also describe whether abuse of a person is within scope, or is not in scope of the Scheme.
