1.1.P.15 Parent Pathways
Definition
Commencing on 1 November 2024, Parent Pathways is a voluntary pre-employment service providing early intervention assistance to parents of young children. Parent Pathways supports parents to identify and achieve their education and employment goals. Financial assistance is available to assist parents to participate in pre-employment support, activities and local services to achieve their goals.
The objectives of Parent Pathways are to improve the future economic security of parents and reduce the risk of disadvantage becoming entrenched and intergenerational, by supporting parents to:
- access local services and supports to help them care for their family and address barriers to their education and career goals
- identify their future aspirations and goals that will lead to secure and decent work that fits in with their caring responsibilities
- progress towards their skills and education goals
- access suitable employment opportunities.
Parent Pathways will operate nationally, in all non-remote employment regions.
