8.7.2.30 Trigger payment (Cashless Debit Card)

Definition

Trigger payment means a payment that will automatically activate (trigger) participation in the Cashless Debit Card (8.7) for people who live in a program area.

The trigger payments are:

  • a payment under the scheme known as ABSTUDY that includes an amount identified as living allowance
  • austudy payment
  • benefit PP (partnered)
  • BVA, so long as the recipient has not reached pension age
  • carer payment
  • disability support pension
  • jobseeker payment
  • parenting allowance (other than non-benefit allowance)
  • pension PP (single)
  • special benefit
  • youth allowance.
