1.1.F.251 Functional abilities (CP & CA (adult))

Definition

For the purposes of CP and CA (adult), functional abilities are basic activities of daily living that an adult with a disability can accomplish without the help of another person (such as bathing, communicating, moving about and eating).

Example: Judith is a 76 year old female with dementia. While Judith has the functional ability to physically undertake the basic activities of living necessary each day, she needs prompting, supervision and guidance to complete these tasks safely.
