10.32.11 Appeals - Agreement with India

Appeals

Article 17 of the Agreement provides that appeals documents, governed by each side's social security laws, may be lodged in either country.

Appeals, whether in relation to Australian or Indian benefits may be lodged:

  • in Australia, at any DHS (Centrelink) office, or
  • in India, at Head Office, Employees' Provident Fund Organisation in New Delhi.

Article 17, paragraph 2 provides that the date on which an appeal is lodged in one country is taken to be the date on which that appeal is lodged with the Competent Institution of the other Party.
