1.1.A.220 Approved voluntary work organisation (JSP, YA, PP, SpB)

Definition

For the purposes of JSP and YA, PP and SpB, an approved organisation must be:

  • community based, with appropriate insurance, OR
  • a government sector agency.

In either case, the organisation or agency must be 'not for profit'.

The work must be in positions which would not normally be filled by paid employees and which have a community focus. Services Australia makes the decision as to which organisations receive approval. Any voluntary work organisation approved by Services Australia may have the name of their organisation publicly disclosed.
