Definition

A compensation recovery charge (debt) is the amount legally recoverable after receiving a lump sum compensation payment or a payment representing arrears of periodic payments for income support payments paid to either a compensation recipient and their partner (or both) during the lump sum preclusion period or the periodic payments period.
