10.9.4.10 Who Can Lodge Claims under the Agreement with Ireland

Who can claim

The Agreement with Ireland contains all the claim lodgement provisions discussed in 10.1.4 Claiming Payments Using an Agreement.

Article 10 of the Agreement with Ireland covers claim lodgement and allows:

  • residents of Australia or Ireland to lodge claims for Australian benefits under the Agreement if they are in Australia, Ireland or a third country with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement, and
  • residents of third countries with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement to lodge claims for Australian benefits under the Agreement if they are in Australia, Ireland or those third countries.
