7.5 JETCCFA Debts

This section contains information on the provisions applying to how JETCCFA debts can be recovered.

A person can incur a JETCCFA debt if an approved child care service (1.1.A.90) is paid an amount of JETCCFA on behalf of a person:

  • to which they were not entitled, or
  • that is more than the amount of assistance that should have been paid to the service.

How debts can be recovered

A JETCCFA debt owed by an individual or an approved child care service can be repaid to the Commonwealth in full or by entering into a payment plan.

If a debt is not repaid, the Commonwealth may commence legal proceedings.
