5.1.3 Protection of information

Introduction

This section explains the Commonwealth's obligation to protect information about a person (1.1.P.80) that has been obtained and/or is held for FA (1.1.F.02) purposes. This includes purposes relating to:

  • the FA law, or
  • the CCSS.

Protection of personal information

Any protected information obtained under FA law can only be used for FA purposes. There are penalties for breaches of any of the terms that apply to the provisions relating to information obtained and/or held for FA purposes.
