10.11.12.30 Transitional provisions - Agreement with Austria

Date the First Protocol took effect

The original Agreement with Austria was amended by a Protocol. The provisions of the First Protocol took effect from 1 October 2002.

Date the Second Protocol took effect

The original Agreement with Austria as amended by the Protocol of 1 October 2002 was amended by a Second Protocol. The provisions of the Second Protocol took effect from 1 January 2012.

Note: Although the Second Protocol deleted WP from the legislative scope of the original Agreement as amended by the First Protocol, the transitional provisions of the Second Protocol provided that WP continued to apply to persons in receipt of WP at the date of entry into force (1 January 2012).

Current Agreement with Austria

The current Agreement commenced from 1 March 2017. It replaced the original Agreement, as amended by the First and Second Protocols.

People paid under the original Agreement are deemed to receive benefits under the current Agreement, by virtue of Article 22.

Note: From 20 March 2020, WP ceased, including for any people paid under the original Agreement by virtue of the transitional provisions of the Second Protocol. Recipients of WP were transferred to another payment, such as Age, where eligible.
