This definition applies to NBS.

Definition

NBS period in relation to an individual and an FTB child of the individual, means the day or days in which the individual satisfies the NBS eligibility criteria under either: 'the parent of child', 'the child entrusted to care of an individual or their partner', or 'the adoption criteria'.

Note: This definition applies regardless of whether the individual is excluded from payment due to the Family Tax Benefit (Entitlement Exclusion - Newborn Upfront Payment and Newborn Supplement) Determination 2014 (No. 1).
