3.10.4.40 Secretary can extend notification period - 28 days

Discretion to vary notification period capped at 28 days

Where the Secretary or a delegate considers that it would be unreasonable for a recipient to notify within 14 days, the Secretary or the delegate may give particular groups of recipients up to 28 days to report changes of circumstances.

For recipients granted an extended notification period, the extended period will apply from the date of the event that led to them being granted the extension.

Example: Recipients living overseas who have their payments administered by CIS have a 28-day notification period.
