3.8.16 Student start-up scholarship - qualification & payability

Introduction

From 1 July 2017, the student start-up scholarship is no longer available for YA (student), Austudy and ABSTUDY living allowance recipients. These students may instead be eligible for the SSL (1.2.7.165).

However, the student start-up scholarship will continue to be payable to eligible students receiving assistance under veterans' entitlement schemes (VCES and MRCA Education and Training Scheme). DVA is responsible for the administration of student start-up scholarship payments to these recipients.
