10.14.11.20 Lodgement of Appeals - Agreement with Germany

Lodgement of appeals

All appeal documents, whether for Australian or German benefits, may be lodged in Australia or Germany.

The date of lodgement of an appeal in Germany is deemed to be the date of lodgement in Australia.

Appeals by people claiming under the Agreement can be lodged with Centrelink in Australia or with the relevant pension insurance fund in Germany.

When an appeal has to be lodged within a specified period of time, provided it is lodged in either Australia or Germany within that time, it is considered to be lodged on time.
