10.16.4.10 Who Can Lodge Claims under the Agreement with Chile

Who can claim

The Agreement with Chile contains all the claim lodgement provisions discussed in 10.1.4.

Articles 14, 22 and 24(1)(d) of the Agreement cover claim lodgement and allow:

  • residents of Australia or Chile to lodge claims for Australian benefits if they are in Australia, Chile or a third country with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement, and
  • residents of a third country with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement to lodge claims for Australian benefits under the Agreement if they are in Australia, Chile or those third countries.
