10.18.4.10 Who Can Lodge Claims under the Agreement with Slovenia

Who can claim

The Agreement with Slovenia contains all the claim lodgement provisions discussed in 10.1.4.

Article 7 of the Agreement covers claim lodgement and allows:

  • residents of Australia or Slovenia to lodge claims for Australian benefits under the Agreement if they are in Slovenia, Australia, or a third country with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement (except the Agreement with New Zealand, the Agreement with Denmark and the Agreement with the USA), and
  • residents of a third country with which Australia has an agreement covering claim lodgement to lodge a claim for Australian benefits under the agreement if they are in Australia, Slovenia or those third countries.

This provision only applies if the person has been an Australian resident at some time (10.18.5.10).
